Paintings by New York/Shanghai-based artist Dawei Wang. Drawing on his observational tendencies, Wang explores the banal activities of everyday life. Influenced by his own experience, moving to the United States from Shanghai, Wang’s work also touches on feelings of alienation and introversion. Figures appear blurred as their place within a given space is made purposefully insecure. Wang’s bold use of colour furthers the sense of unease and the underlying tension between movement and stillness, interior realities and the physical world. See more images below.
