Another lovely batch of drawings from Florida-based artist Katie Evans (previously featured here). Focusing on feminine figures and objects in undefined spaces, Evans’ work often depicts women in ritual-esque poses or gestures with no apparent purpose. As she explains further:
“The still lifes I draw are of vessels — bowls, containers, cups, even the bodies I draw become a still lifes. I search for meaning, albeit invented through my drawings, the resting of a chin on a shelf, a cracked egg in a decorative bowl, the weight of a stone in a hand. “
