A selection of recent work by New York-based photographer Ramie Ahmed. Dedicated to honest, intimate representation of his Black friends, especially those in the LGBTQ+ community, Ahmed’s mission is to provide a platform of visibility for those who are often under or misrepresented in mainstream narratives. He describes an ethos of care and connection as the heart of his practice — “it is more than just photographing them and moving on to the following individual; these are people the world must see and accept, for they’re humans that too love.”
