Photographer Spotlight: Joselito Verschaeve

Joselito Verschaeve is a Ghent, Belgium-based visual artist focused on photography and the photo book. Verschaeve completed his my Master’s Degree in Visual Arts at KASK Ghent (BE) in 2021, and now splits his time between his personal creative practice and work as an art framer. His first monograph, “If I call stones blue it is because blue is the precise word,” was published by Athens-based publishing house, VOID, in 2022. Of the project, he says:

“This work leans on day-to-day encounters that are or turn narrative driven. The idea of building an archive that can fit different themes while maintaining certain interchangeability. With this archive gradually growing it’s possible to move around images and create new narratives. The book hints at personal fascinations, alongside visions of dystopia feeding upon current threats and events.”
