With Fantômaton, I explore the boundary between presence and absence, humour and melancholy, anonymity and embodiment. These veiled silhouettes do not seek to frighten, but rather to invite a form of intimate projection. They are potential characters, silent presences that question the way we interpret a body, a gesture, an accessory.
In their simplicity, they open up a universal space, like a photo booth, where anyone can enter, recognise themselves and tell their story.
This series is thus a playful and sensitive exploration of identity, gaze and photographic fiction; a silent theatre where everyone can find a piece of themselves behind a white sheet.
