PERIPHERY explores the human head as a space of identity, emotion and memory. Painted from the reverse onto transparent adhesive tape, the figures exist between presence and absence, visibility and disappearance. Their incomplete faces become inner portraits rather than representations of specific people.
The transparency makes the surrounding space part of the artwork: the viewer does not simply look at the painting, but through it. Everyday tape becomes a fragile surface, challenging the permanence of traditional painting.
The works inhabit the periphery — the space between figure and abstraction, control and spontaneity, inner world and society. What remains is not a fixed identity, but an open encounter between image, space and viewer.
