Nima Javan is an Iranian-born artist based in Liverpool, UK. His practice explores imagined worlds through painting and textile, drawing on Persian miniature painting, carpets and storytelling traditions. His work features animals, hybrid creatures and symbolic landscapes to explore migration, belonging, climate change, community and coexistence. Through vibrant colour, pattern and detailed imagery, Javan creates alternative worlds that bring together cultural memory, personal experience and observations of the changing world.
