A wonderful series of abstract compositions by photographer Brenda Biondo. Inspired by art theories of colour and perception, Biondo creates aesthetics akin to abstract paintings by folding and cutting printed images of the sky, and then re-photographing these images against the actual sky.
Taking advantage of natural light and atmospheric colour, the result is a kind of optical illusion created entirely without post-production manipulation. See more images from “Paper Skies” below.
A wonderful series of abstract paintings by Brooklyn-based artist Kristin Texeira. Paying homage to the past that has shaped her as a person, “The Framework” combines image and text to document the stories and memories associated with the different windows through which she’s gazed and dreamed. See more images below.
Artist Peter Zimmermann covers over 1,400 square feet of flooring with abstract patterns using layers of brightly-coloured resin. The installation is part of his first large solo exhibition at the Museum für Neue Kunst in his hometown of Freiburg, Germany. See more images from “Freiburg School” below or in person until June 19th.
